40 Days for Life is a campaign of prayer, fasting and maintaining a peaceful vigil outside of abortion facilities. As part of our Faith in Action program, we have been encouraged by our State Council to promote and have our members participate in 40 Days for Life activities in our area. It couldn’t be easier for us – the local Planned Parenthood abortion facility is right down the street at 86th and Georgetown. And the Opening Ceremony will again be held right here at St. Luke, the evening of Sunday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m.
If you have never (or you have) participated in a campaign and/or have any questions, please consider attending the Opening Event in our parish on the 23rd. Mark it on your calendar – you will not want to miss this opportunity to prepare your mind, heart and soul to serve our Lord through the prayer vigil. The Indy Campaign coordinators promise inspiring song, prayer, and proclamation! Then prayerfully consider joining the campaign.
Remember, our Council has signed up for Fridays from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. but you can stop by at any time for any amount of time. The 40 days start on Wednesday, Sept. 26 and ends on Sun. Nov.4. The first hour starts at 7:00 a.m. and the last hour starts at 6:00 p.m. Having our Knights out there and all our prayer is very powerful.
Also, the night before the vigil starts, you are invited to the Right to Life of Indianapolis Celebrate Life Fundraising Dinner where the guest speaker this year is the founder of 40 Days for Life, David Bereit. More information can be found at the Right to Life Indy website: www.rtlindy.org
